One of my tasks in the former Bundesinstitut für gesundheitlichen Verbraucherschutz und Veterinärmedizin - BgVV - (Federal Institute for Consumer Health Protection and Veterinary Medicine) which ceased to exist on November 1st, 2002, has been to deal with health and animal welfare aspects of street pidgeons. The resulting opinions were published on the web sites of the BgVV. Its successor, however, the Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung - BfR - (Federal Institute for Risk Assessment) is no longer dealing with the subject and accordingly cancelled these sites.
