Our website attempts to provide generally understandable, but not overly simplistic information on our own and a common subject area.
Dr. Ingrid Schütt-Abraham has worked for decades on the street pigeon problem and in particular on the humane stunning and killing of farm animals.
As a veterinarian and a biologist, Dr. Ingrid Schütt-Abraham and I have been trying to understand the transmissible spongiform encephalopathies (TSEs) BSE, Creutzfeldt-Jakob and scrapie as precisely as possible since 1990, mainly through intensive and extensive literature research. Initially independently of each other and from 2001 cooperating on an interdisciplinary basis, we were primarily interested in possible transmission routes and the associated health or economic risks for humans. We therefore compared the published status of TSE research with relevant information from agricultural and industrial practice as well as with the respective legal situation in order to discover as yet unrecognized safety gaps. Some of the results of our work are presented on this website in as comprehensible a form as possible. The early death of my friend Ingrid put an end to our joint research and her website was taken offline. I have therefore integrated her website into mine and adapted my navigation paths accordingly.
After the main goal of our research was achieved with the feed ban law, I began teaching in schools and using self-learning hypertexts to enable learning at individual speeds. Because the extreme heterogeneity of our pupils is one of the biggest problems of our inflexible school system.
