TI Arterial supply of the brain of buffalo in egypt. Part I: Retia Mirabile
QU Vet. med. J. 1987; 35: 161-173
PT journal article
AB Dissection has revealed that the arterial blood of the brain of the buffalo is, mainly, derived from the internal carotid, maxillary, occipital and vertebral arteries. Branches from these vessels contribute to the formation of a rostral and a caudal epidural rete mirabile over which the arterial blood passes to the brain. On the other hand, the meninges of the brain receive their arterial blood supply through branches derived from the occipital and maxillary arteries, in addition to those of the superficial temporal artery.
