AB We report a 25-year-old man with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) who had received dura mater embolization in the external carotid artery for a nasopharyngeal angiofibroma 90 months earlier. The patient was heterozygotous (Met/Val) at codon 129. This case suggests that dura mater embolization can be responsible for the CJD.
IN Ein 25 Jahre alter Mann starb 90 Monate nach einer Embolisierung einer externen Hauptschlagader wegen einer gutartigen Gefäßgeschwulst an der Creutzfeldt-Jakob-Krankheit. Da für die Verstopfung dura mater Material verwendet wurde, liegt der Verdacht einer iatrogenen Infektion nahe. Der Mann war bezüglich des Codons 129 heterozygot Met/Val.
