TI Transgenetics and cell biology of prion diseases: investigations of PrPsc synthesis and diversity.

QU British Medical Bulletin 1993 Oct; 49(4): 873-912

PT journal article; review; review, academic

AB Studies with Tg mice have contributed a wealth of new knowledge about the synthesis of prion particles and the pathogenesis of both the genetic and infectious forms of the prion diseases. Transgenetic studies argue persuasively that the 'species barrier' is due to differences in PrP gene sequences among mammals.
