AB Differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) experiments have shown that the ability of PrP106-126 to perturb 1,3-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) model membranes is differently affected by Cu(++) and Zn(++) ions.
