AB Measures against TSE has been compiled basically in the Regulation (EC) 999/2001 (and following amendments), which is in force throughout the EU. As the intelligence on TSE develops rapidly, such amendments are to be expected regularly, and also the legal situation must be communicated on a regular basis. Here, actual measures on animal by-products and the present definition of SRM would be presented, as well the present legal procedure with the vertebral column of cattle and with the cutting of heads of cattle.
